Kilronan Castle has been crowned as the winner of the Smartest Social Media / Viral Marketing Category at the recent An Post Marketing Awards.
The prestigious awards took place in the Mansion House on Thursday, 7th May. Oscar’s Story “King of Kilronan Castle” was one of six nominees shortlisted in the Smartest Social Media / Viral Marketing Category.
‘Oscar’s Story’ originated when staff of Kilronan Castle discovered a teddy bear who had lost his way in the hotel and decided to ensure that he experienced exceptional customer service until he was reunited with his new owner.
The story attracted nationwide attention when the pictures from his stay went viral, reaching over 850,000 people.
Oscar the Teddy was pictured overlooking Lough Meelagh, enjoying a complimentary full Irish breakfast and enjoying a host of treatments in The Spa at Kilronan Castle.
Kilronan Castle used ‘Oscar’s Story’ to demonstrate to its customers the excellent customer service it delivers on a continuing basis.
