Manorhamilton Seán McDermott Boxing Club's Clara Murphy had a good win on Sunday last in her Connacht Girl 3 59kg semi-final bout which took place at the provincial championships in The Hut, Castlerea.
Clara defeated Hayley Moran, Swinford Boxing Club when the fight judges stopped the contest in the second round.
A spokesperson for the Seán McDermott Boxing Club complimented Clara on her impressive victory saying it was a good win today for Clara Murphy in the Connacht championships stopping her opponent in the second round.
“She now progresses to next week's final. Well done Clara, you showed great heart.”
Meanwhile another young Seán McDermott Boxing Club fighter, Justin Kelly had an impressive win at the prestigious Cookstown, Co. Tyrone boxing tournament on Saturday, which took place in Cookstown Community Centre.
Complimenting the young Manor fighter on his victory up North a Seán McDermott Boxing Club mentor said “well done to Justin Kelly keeping that winning momentum going, with a good win this evening in the Cookstown Annual Show. Well done kid - a great performance.”
