The event was a culmination of months of hard work, commitment, and collaboration among learners, staff, and the many individuals who support adult and community education in County Leitrim.
It was a proud moment for everyone involved in helping people reach their goals, with graduates receiving certification in a variety of fields including Culinary Skills, Community Development, Horticulture, Health and Safety, and Employment Skills. These courses are funded by the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) and Mayo Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board.
The organisers were especially honoured to welcome Marian Harkin, Minister of State for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, who kindly presented the certificates to the graduates.
Minister Harkin's warm words of encouragement inspired all in attendance and served as a reminder of the importance of inclusive education and continuous learning opportunities. Sincere thanks to Frank Feighan T.D., Martin Kenny T.D., and councillors Mary Bohan and Gary Prior for attending the ceremony.
“We are very grateful to The Shed, our partners in the Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSLETB), and to the many other agencies and departments whose support helps make our work possible,” a spokesperson said.
“This event not only celebrated educational achievement, but also showcased the strength of community partnerships and the real impact of lifelong learning on individuals and communities throughout Leitrim,” the spokesperson said.
