Deaths in Leitrim - Wednesday March 1, 2023

Seamus McCartan, Drummucker, Carrigallen, Leitrim - Peacefully at Cavan Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, following a short illness. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary. Much loved and deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Margaret, daughters Melissa (Peter Johnston), Vanessa (Liam Donohoe), son Errol (Olive) brothers Pat (Newtowngore), Brendan (USA), grandsons Cian, Conor, Liam óg, Harry, Jack and Ryan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends. Reposing at his residence on Wednesday, from 4pm to 8pm. House private for family neighbours and close friends at all other times please. Removal on Thursday morning to arrive at St Mary's Church Drumeela for Funeral Mass at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. One way system in operation during reposing times entrance off the Carrigallen/Ballyconnell Road.

Imelda Kerr (née Gallagher), Beaumont, Dublin / Drumkeeran, Leitrim - Kerr (née, Gallagher) Imelda (Beaumont, Dublin and late of Corry, Drumkeeran, Co. Leitrim) February 26th 2023, died peacefully, after a long illness bravely borne, surrounded by her loving family and in the loving care of the staff at St. Francis Hospice, Raheny and previously in the care of the staff in St. Teresa’s ward in Beaumont Hospital, loving mother of Paul and Rachael. Sadly missed by her son, daughter, sisters Carmel and Geraldine, brothers Sean and Paul, sister-in-law Anna, Paul and Rachael’s father Padraig, nieces, nephews, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and neighbours. Reposing at her home on Wednesday, 1st March, from 4pm to 7pm. Removal on Thursday morning, 2nd March, to the Church of the Holy Child, Swords Road, Whitehall arriving for Funeral Mass at 10.30am, followed by Cremation in Glasnevin Crematorium. Maura Gilligan Cootehall, Co Roscommon - The death has occurred of Maura Gilligan (née Duffy), Cootehall, Co Roscommon (Retired Teacher) on Saturday, 25th February, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the care of the nurses and staff at Drumderrig Nursing Home, Boyle. Pre-deceased by her husband Sean, sisters Bridgeen, Margaret and Kay. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving sister Una, brother-in-law Jackie, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, relatives, neighbours, past pupils and many good friends. Rest In Peace. Maura will repose at her home on Wednesday, 1st March from 2 -6pm followed by removal to St. Michael's Church, Cootehall arriving at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 12  noon with funeral afterwards to Ardcarne Cemetery.

Richard Magee, Melbourne and late of Drumgoa, Killeshandra, County Cavan - Wednesday 22nd February, suddenly. Predeceased by his parents Mary and Dick. Beloved husband of Olga and loving and devoted father of Conor and Aidan. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Martina, Caroline and Aine, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends. Patrica O'Halloran (née Toland), Carricknahorna, Cashelard, Ballyshannon, Co.Donegal - Peacefully at Brentwood Manor, Convoy, Co. Donegal surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her father George, mother Bridget, brother's George Frances, Willie and sister Mary Bridget. Forever remembered by her children Christine (William), Martin (Donna), Margaret (Neil) and Patricia. She was much loved by her grandchildren Naomi, Calum, Dylan, Grace, John, Adam and Shay. Sadly missed by her sister Theresa (John), brothers Eddie (Jackie), Brendan and Patrick, sisters-in-law Joan and Philomena, nephews and nieces and all extended family and friends. Kathleen (Kitty) Quinn, Prucklish, Newtownforbes, Longford - In her 90th year, in the exceptional care of the staff at Autumn Lodge, St. Joseph's Care Centre, Dublin Road, Co. Longford. Predeceased by her father James and mother Roseanne, her sisters and brothers.She is survived by her brothers Owenie (Drumlish), Tommie and Bernie (Newtownforbes), her sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, her many relatives and friends. Reposing at Glennon's Funeral home on Wednesday from 5 o'clock concluding with prayers at 6 o'clock. Removal to St. Mary's Church, Newtownforbes arriving at 7 o'clock Wednesday.
