Deaths in Leitrim - Wednesday February 6, 2019

The following deaths have taken place in Leitrim and surrounding areas:

Helen Lawley (nee Simpson) Churchtown, Dublin / Elphin, Roscommon

Lawley, Helen (née Simpson) February 4 2019, Churchtown and formerly of Cherryfield, Elphin, Co. Roscommon. Peacefully while surrounded by her loving family in the tender care of the staff in the Glenaulin Nursing Home. Predeceased by her loving husband David. Sadly missed by her children Mary, Aidan, Caitriona, Annemarie and David sons-in-law, daughters-in-law Joe, Toni, Donny and Karen, grandchildren Kevin, Michelle, Molly, Oísin, David, Saoirse, Darragh and Eoin, her sister Peggy, nieces, nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Helen will repose at home on Wednesday (February 6th.) evening from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. House private thereafter. Requiem Mass in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Churchtown on Thursday (February 7th) at 10am followed by burial at Mount Venus Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Alzheimer Sociery of Ireland.

Maura Daly, Allingham Court, West End, Bundoran, Donegal

Maura Daly, Allingham Court, West End, Bundoran, Co. Donegal. Sunday February 3rd 2019, suddenly at her late residence. Daughter of the late Patrick and Nora Daly. Loving sister of Sheila Rooney (Bundoran), Joan Granaghan (Bundoran) Roisin Grace (Belleek) Noreen Daly (Bundoran) Ita (Rugby U.K) and Michael (Dublin), deeply regretted by her loving family, brothers-in-law Pat, Shamey and Kevin, her beloved nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and all her many relatives, neighbours and friends.

Removal on Wednesday morning to arrive at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Bundoran for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am, burial afterwards in St.Ninnidh's Cemetery, Newtown, Bundoran. Family flowers only please and donations in lieu if so desired to The North West Hospice, The Mall, Sligo care of Conlan and Breslin Funeral Directors or by donation box at wake and Church.

Ann Rafter (Mullally) (née O'Connor), Ballinameen, Boyle, Roscommon

Rafter (Mullally) née O'Connor, following a brief illness and peacefully at her home, on the 2nd of February 2019, late of Griffith Ave, D9 and Ballinameen, Co. Roscommon. Deeply regretted by her loving family, extended family and friends. Funeral Mass will take place at St Attracta's Church, Ballinameen, on Wednesday the 6th at 12 noon, with private cremation afterwards. Family flowers only please, donations, if liked, to Mayo and Roscommon Hospice, c/o Higgins and Sons Funeral Directors Boyle and Ballinameen or a family member.

Sr. Romana (Mary) McDwyer, Marist Convent, Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim / Sooey, Sligo

Sr. Romana McDwyer, (Mary), Marist Convent, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co.Leitrim and late of Sooey, Co.Sligo. Monday 4th February 2019 peacefully at Abbey Haven Nursing Home, Boyle surrounded by her family and her Marist sisters. Predeceased by her beloved sister Anna Devaney (Manorhamilton). Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her brothers Oliver (Dublin), Joe (Gorey), Ray (Galway), and John (Carrick-on-Shannon), brother-in-law Seamus Devaney, sisters-in-law Brenda, Mary and Josephine, nieces, nephews, her Marist Community, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the Convent Chapel on Wednesday 6th February from 3 -7 pm with removal on Thursday morning to St. Mary's Church, Carrick-on-Shannon arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the Convent Cemetery. Marist Convent private on Thursday morning please.

Mary Raftery (née Gallogly) Beechwood Park, Mallow, Cork / Leitrim

Raftery (Mallow and Leitrim) on February 4th 2019, peacefully, in the loving care of the staff at Padre Pio Nursing Home, Churchtown, Mary, Beechwood Park, Mallow and formerly of Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim, beloved wife of the late Paddy and dear mother of John, Kevin, Brendan and Kieran. Sadly missed by her loving sons, brothers, sisters, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Funeral Arrangements Later
