There was a strong Carrick-on-Shannon representation on the Sligo Grammar School team who qualified for the Connacht Schools Rugby Senior 'A' Cup Final on Wednesday.
David O’Connell, Jack Deegan, Dara Holmes, Gerard Murtagh and Ambrose Devine are all members of the Sligo school team who defeated Colaiste Iognaid in the semi final and will now face Marist College Athlone in the final to be played in the Sportsground in Galway on Wednesday March 22, at 3pm.
Most of the five players would have started their rugby with Carrick-on-Shannon RFC who sent them the best of wishes for the final while all five have lined out with St Mary’s Kiltoghert while Gerard Murtagh featured for the Leitrim Minor football team last year.
Pictured are the five Carrick players on the Sligo Grammar team namely Dara Holmes, Ambrose Devine, Diarmuid O'Connell, Gerard Murtagh and Jack Deegan.
