Carrick-on-Shannon’s Shane Layden has been named in the Irish U-20 squad for this year’s Junior World Championship in South Africa.

Carrick-on-Shannon’s Shane Layden has been named in the Irish U-20 squad for this year’s Junior World Championship in South Africa.

Coached by Mike Ruddock, Irish will face England, Italy and hosts South Africa in Pool B. Shane will be joined by fellow Connacht players Aaron Conneely and Kieran Marmion in the 28 strong squad and will start their campaign on June 4, against South Africa in Stellenbosch before taking on England on June 8, and Italy on June 12.
