Carrick RFC launch children's inclusion programme

Carrick on Shannon RFC launched its Inclusive Rugby program at the Mayflower Drumshanbo last Saturday. Catering for boys and girls 8-16 years with additional needs, the first session was attended by 10 children from across Leitrim and north Roscommon. Nine coaches from the Club, including one of our U13 players, supported the session which had a firm emphasis on fun and inclusion, two of the core values of our game. Plenty of smiling faces on the day,  both children and coaches alike. The Club look forward to learning from the children and their parents on how best we can develop the program.

Our thanks to Leitrim Sports partnership and Connacht Rugby for their support in launching the program, in particular Paddy Mahon who joined us from Connacht Rugby on the day.

The next session will be on Saturday January 18, at 11 am at the same venue. There are a small number of places still available with contact details available on the Club FaceBook page or on our website.
