Go to Ground Challenge: Carrick on Shannon RFC is hosting its first ‘Go to Ground Challenge’ on Saturday, May 4, as part of a schedule of events aimed at raising funds for our pitch development. The event is a 5.5km circuit of Carrick-on-Shannon requiring speed, coordination, skill & endurance. It promises to be a great day with a BBQ & prize giving in Murtagh’s Bar afterwards. Price: €10 per person or €40 for a group (5). Changing and shower facilities will be available on the day. Prize giving and after party will take place in Murtagh’s Bar from 2pm.
Mixed Tag Rugby: Carrick-on-Shannon RFC’s annual TAG Rugby tournament will commence May 30, on the Castlecara Rd. Tag Rugby has long been a great way to spend a summers evening and has been successfully run by the club for the last five years and keeps going from strength to strength. It offers a fun way to keep fit, meet new people and is a great introductory to Rugby for first timers. The tournament will run for about 11 weeks and we’ll have a few social nights in between before the end of tournament BBQ in Murtagh’s Bar. For anyone a little unsure of what to expect check out the pictures from last year’s tournament www.carrickrugbyclub.ie. For full details see the Registration page on our website. Cost per team is €240 (12 players)
