On Saturday, October 5, CRFC Minis have two events organised. Our Under 10 team have been one of four teams selected to represent Connacht at the national Under 10s Blitz in Ashbourne. There will be a bus bringing players, parents and coaches to Ashbourne on the day and these parents will be informed by text of further details.
A celebratory meal (Supermacs-ish!) will be provided on the way home, so a packed lunch will be needed for during the day. Parents seats will be limited to two per player . If travelling by car please let us know!
As there has been a low response to confirmations from under 10s parents, without getting the under 9 players hopes up, Aidan may be in touch with interested parents of under 9s to attend in their place. This is a great opportunity for the players to have a memorable and great day of rugby.
Also on October 5, the minis under 8s to Under 12s (except Under 10s) will be travelling to Ballina for their first Blitz of the season. Players will meet at the Arch at the Landmark Hotel at 08:30am for car pooling. We will be departing at 08:45am.
Parents travelling direct can if you wish, text ‘En Route’ to 086 3867960 in case of cancellations or postponements. All parents/players should check this website the night before any blitz in case of any alterations to travel times or kick offs.
All players, Youths and Minis must be registered with the club by October for insurance purposes.

Senior Women: The amalgamated teams of Longford and Carrick took on NUIG in the first match of the season at Longford on Sunday. The home team saw Yvonne Dowd broke away to power over the line for the first try within five minutes of the kick off and despite missing the conversion, Carrick led 5-0 at the break.
Claire McDermott added a second try, with the conversion from Emma Dardis and McDermott got her second try of the game with a break from the halfway line. This was a great team performance and bodes well for the season to come.
