Leitrim Super League Darts trials a great success

Leitrim Super League Darts trials a great success

The first of four trials to select the Leitrim Super League panels got off to a very positive start last Friday night with 70 players taking part in four different venues.

The Ballinamore trials were held at Jackie's Lakeland Bar with 19 players in action. Four players shared top spot with 12 points each - Brendan Mulvey, Stephen McCusker, Sean Corrigan and Colm McGirl.

In the Breffni League, the venue was the Blue Devon in Dromahair with 15 players taking part. Top of the table here was David McManus with 11 points.

The Lough Allen League held their trials at Carthy’s Lock 17 in Leitrim Village with 15 players taking part. Top man here was the in-form Ray Mulvey. Nice to see a number of younger players taking part with James Rock Junior, Ben Mulvey and Charlie McDermott in action, Charlie taking second place with a very creditable nine points.

O’Callaghan’s Bar was the venue for the Mohill trials. The Mohill League is currently the hotspot as regards playing numbers with 108 registered throwers. So it was no surprise that they had the highest turnout with 21 players. Mark Tighe was top of the pile here with 14 points.

A massive thank you to everyone who turned out last Friday night.

Our next Tournament is a County ranking event, the Leitrim Masters  in O’Callaghan’s Bar in Mohill on Friday June 23, with our next Super League trials on Friday July 7.

Martina in The Blue Devon is currently running an eight nighter with a number of weeks left to qualify for the finals night. We would encourage as many as possible to mosey down to Dromahair on a Monday night - what else would you be doing!
