Success on the double for Leitrim players at the Blue Devon eight night darts blitz final night with Raymond Mulvey winning the main event and his new doubles partner Jason Vickers successful in the Shield Final.
The big crowd were treated to a great night of darts, efficiently run off by host Martina. Raymond beat Sligo’s Sean McGowan 6-1 in the final, producing an 11 dart leg and a 127 finish en route to victory.
Eighteen players took part in the Shield with the Final an all Leitrim affair as Jason beat fellow Ballinamore League player Paul McGuire in the final. Great to see Leitrim players making progress.
NAVAN SHOOTOUT
Raymond Mulvey travelled to the Navan Eight Night Shootout last Friday and reached the final from a field of 74. The Carrick man was pipped in the decider 4-3 by former World Youth finalist Keith Rooney of Meath in a high quality and tense decider.
DUBLIN 15 SUPER SERIES
On Sunday, Raymond Mulvey competed in his second Dublin 15 Superseries. Last time out, he lost the final to PDC players Steve Lennon and history repeated itself as Lennon again won 6-5 after a great battle.
At one stage, it was three legs apiece before Ray went one-up, then level again. Lennon went one ahead before Ray levelled but then lost out on the deciding leg. However, a great performance nonetheless.
