Sligo Rovers history documented in new book

The eagerly awaited Official Sligo Rovers History ‘The Bit O’ Red’, will be available for sale shortly.

With almost 600 pages, it is destined to create its own bit of history as the most detailed publication ever produced by a League of Ireland Club.

It is a definitive reference book with records from every season since the club was established in 1928, fascinating stories about the memorable games and famous players, and reflections of the people who served in various capacities over the club’s long history. The book is very reasonably priced at €75 for hard-back and €50 for the regular edition.

Chair of the Sligo Rovers Heritage Group Aidan Mannion said, “It is no exaggeration to say that this is a once-in-a-lifetime publication, we have uncovered some marvellous material in the course of our research and it will be a ‘must-read’ book for every supporter and the wider community. People have been very generous in donating mementos and sharing memories for this history.”

“I could not think of a more welcome Christmas gift for people interested in Sligo and Sligo Rovers.”

The ‘Bit O’ Red’ will be available in the following outlets from week commencing December 12: The Record Room, Sligo Rovers Club Shop, Showgrounds Office (Mornings).

The book can be ordered by emailing recordroomsligo@gmail.com
