Medals galore for North Leitrim AC in Dublin

North Leitrim AC walkers produced a series of excellent performances at last Sunday's 123.ie National 20Km and 35Km Race Walk Championships in Dublin's St Anne’s Park as they picked up four wins in the juvenile races along with two other medals.

North Leitrim had four wins on the day in the juvenile races with Sarah Mulvaney Kelly (10:32) and Karl Casey (10.28) winning both U14 2,000m races while Karen Mulvaney Kelly (15.38) and Luke Fitzmaurice (15.21) made it another double for the Leitrim club when winning the U16 3,000m events.

Cealagh McGloin finished second in a time of 11.31 behind her clubmate Sarah Mulvaney Kelly in the U14 girls race while Masters athlete Susanne O’Beirne finished third in the her first 10Km walk, clocking a time of one hour 4 mins 35 seconds.

Faye Watters (6.14) and Emily Flanagan finished fifth and sixth in the U12 girls 2,000m race while Ian Harkin finished fourth behind Karl Casey in the U14 boys, stopping the clock at 13.03 for the distance.

Hannah White completed the North Leitrim contingent as she finished eighth in the U18 girls 3,000m race in a time of 20.32 on a great day for the club.
