ALERT: Warning issued for possible flooding during Status Orange rain warning
Met Éireann has issued a warning regarding possible dangerous driving conditions in the south and southeastern parts of the country today due to a Status Orange weather alert.
From 1pm today, an orange rain warning will come into effect for Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford. The rain warning will remain valid until midnight.
There is also a Status Orange warning which is currently in affect for Cork and Waterford until 6pm this evening.
Met Éireann has warned that there could be flooding and travel disruption due to heavy rain and some intense thundery downpours during the alert.

Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary will also be impacted by the heavy rain and have been issued a Status Yellow rain warning which is currently in place until 8pm.
The Road Safety Authority has urged people to be careful while driving and to check local traffic and weather conditions before setting out on a journey.
