Severe weather is on the way for Leitrim
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow - Fog warning for Leitrim and the rest of Connacht for overnight.
The warning comes into place from 4pm on Wednesday evening through to 6am on Thursday morning.
The national forecaster warns of patches of fog and freezing fog, thickening this evening and tonight.
The Status Yellow warning takes in the entire Connacht province, as well as Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath and Wicklow.
Motorists have been advised to take extra care while driving later on this evening and tonight.
Overnight, temperatures will drop below freezing with widespread frost and some icy patches forming. There is likely to be fog across much of the country, turning dense in some areas.

Temperatures are set to fall to 0 Celsius from 5pm on Wednesday evening and hitting -2 overnight. Temperatures are not expected to rise until 6-7am on Thursday, with rain predicted to fall around 10am in parts of Leitrim on Thursday morning.
