Leitrim has largely avoided the worst of the cold snap, experiencing snow only on higher ground, frost and occasional showers of rain and sleet.
A Status Yellow weather warning for low temperature remains in effect nationwide until Friday, January 10, and a separate Status Yellow snow-ice warning is also in place until Tuesday, January 7.
Approximately 41,000 homes across the country are without power, and over 40,000 without water. Counties most affected are Limerick, Kerry, Cork, Tipperary, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois and Wicklow.
The ESB has reported no service interruptions in Leitrim.
The majority of schools have opened today, with closures in Carlow, Cork, Limerick, Kerry and Tipperary.
Bus Éireann services have faced significant disruption in most affected areas, while Iarnród Éireann has confirmed that all train services are running.
The HSE have also cancelled some services in southern counties.
Leitrim can expect scattered showers of rain and sleet, with temperatures ranging from 2 to 0 degrees.
The cold snap is predicted to ease by Friday, with temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.
