A yellow weather warning has been issued for 4pm on Sunday for counties Leitrim, Sligo, Donegal, Galway, Clare, Kerry and Mayo until 10pm on Sunday.
The strong winds could bring wave overtopping, fallen trees and branches and difficult travelling conditions, Met Éireann warned this afternoon.
