Gardai advise motorists to be aware of possible obstructions on the road in Leitrim in the wake of Storm Gareth

Numerous trees reportedly down across Offaly - Council begins clean-up

Strong winds and heavy rain are expected in Leitrim today and motorists are advised to keep an eye for fallen trees, branches or other obstructions.

Gardai are advising motorists to be on the lookout for fallen debris including branches and other obstructions when driving in the wake of Storm Gareth.

Fallen trees may be an issue. If you find your way obstructed by a fallen tree please report it immediately to emergency services so appropriate action may be taken and advisory warnings issued to other motorists.

Strong gusts of wind during Storm Gareth may make driving conditions hazardous, especially for trucks or buses. Caution is advised in exposed areas. Car drivers may find themselves impacted by strong winds. Gardai are advising people not to make any unnecessary journeys during the storm.
