Met Eireann says a Status Red wind warning may be issued for tomorrow, as Storm Eunice arrives in Ireland.
A status yellow wind, rain and snow warning will kick in for the entire country from 1am in the morning, with mass power outages and coastal flooding possible.
Already today ESB Ireland is reporting scattered pockets of outages across, Leitrim, Longford, Roscommon and Cavan.
The Dublin to Holyhead route this afternoon and its return this evening is cancelled, as is the Rosslare-Fishguard sailing this evening and its return journey in the morning.
Two sailings between Belfast and Cairnryan have been cancelled this afternoon, with later scheduled ferries also in doubt.
