Casadh sa Cheol is a six-part television series for TG4 that challenges artists from dramatically different musical worlds to swap and reinterpret each other’s most cherished tracks, culminating in a powerful, one-off performance filmed live at The Belfast Barge, an intimate floating venue in the heart of Belfast.
At the start of each episode, the artists hear each other’s song for the first time before spending just two days rehearsing and reinterpreting the sound to suit their own style.
From sean-nós to electropop, punk to folk, Casadh sa Cheol sees two artists dive into each other’s creative space, pushing their sound, identity and comfort zones.
They don’t meet until the day of the performance, moments before they step on stage, in front of a live audience and each other.
