Send in the clowns

Have Yis No Homes to Go To comes to The Dock on November 2

'Have Yis No Homes to Go To' comes to The Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon on Wednesday, November 2 for one night only.

It is the true story of one eejit drummer’s deep misgivings and unlikely redemption on a trip to Rwanda with Clowns Without Borders. The drummer in question is Brian Fleming who found himself transported from Kinvarra in Galway to a packed refugee camp in Rwanda on a trip with Clowns Without Borders.

Brian put that experience into a stage play that has seen him under the direction of Rayond Keane play to packed houses in Dublin, Cork and New York and receive a Trócaire 'Mobilising for Justice' award in 2012 and a nomination for a best writing award at New York Innovative Theatre Awards in 2016.

If you can begin to picture three and a half Irish clowns facing 1,500 refugees in a camp in Rwanda you will begin to get a sense of what this excellent production has to offer. In ‘Kinvar-wandan’, Swahili, French and English, the words on everyone’s lips were “What the hell are they doing here?” and 'Why did you bring a drummer to Africa?'

This very funny and thought provoking show comes to The Dock for one night only and tickets are available now on 0719650828 or at www.thedock.ie
