Would you like to learn more about the art of stand-up comedy and channeling your inner funny?
Do you enjoy making people laugh? There is a brilliant 5-week course coming up at The Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon, that is perfect course for you.
You will have the chance to work with professional comedian and actor Sharon Mannion, (from Bridget and Eamonn on RTE) to develop your own authentic and unique stand-up routine and story-telling style and bring out your inner comedian! This course is not just for people who want to be comedians.
Maybe you are an actor. The skills this course will give you will make you more confident and capable of developing a character and really making the most of your time on stage
Beginning this Saturday, October 13 for a five week period the sessions will run from 10.30am to 1.30pm. Sharon will help you hone your own style and hilarious content, with constructive, honest feedback. The relaxed, supportive class environment helps students build confidence – before performing your set for a live audience in The Dock.
The course is best suited to adults who have never performed stand-up comedy before or anyone who would like to build their confidence with, acting, public speaking or presentation skills.
What you will learn is how to be comfortable on stage, how to build audience rapport and make an audience laugh (whether the audience is one person or a thousand people).
You will get tips on how to be likeable on stage, how to develop material and storytelling skills. Sharon will also teach you about improvisation and on the spot thinking which a skill that anyone would find useful is. All in this entire course will teach you to be in control even when outside your comfort zone.
The most important aspect of this course is that it will be great fun and a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and share new experiences. Spaces are limited to 10.
