Trad Babies are back in The Dock this Saturday, March 9
Trad Babies, in association with Hawks Well Theatre and Roscommon Arts Centre, returns to the Dock Arts Centre this Saturday, March 9.
This is a joyful introduction to traditional music for little ones! Join us for an unforgettable concert featuring traditional Irish music which will delight and enchant babies, parents and grandparents alike. In this rich musical experience, babies will be introduced to a gentle selection of traditional tunes, in a safe, secure and child friendly environment, by fiddle player Mossie Martin and flute player Aidan Shannon.
The concert will last for approximately 45 minutes.
Mossie Martin runs the well established traditional Irish music PLC course in Drumshanbo and is also a regular tutor at local summer schools and festivals. As part of the first two Leitrim Equation projects, he recorded with Lúnasa and Dervish and has also collaborated with other traditional artists including Leonard Barry, Michael Rooney and June McCormack, Bernard Flaherty and Donal O’Connor, Edwina Guckian and Ryan Molloy.
Aidan Shannon, a flute and tin whistle player from County Roscommon, has performed with groups and bands representing Elphin CCÉ, Ballindine CCÉ and Fred Finn CCÉ. As a member of the Comhaltas National Folk Orchestra of Ireland, Aidan performed the Boróimhe suite in 2014 and Macalla 1916 which premiered in London.
Please note that a ticket must be purchased for all children and adults attending.
