We pray for the happy repose of the soul of Owen Kelly, whose tragic death occurred the weekend before last and was laid to rest last week. We remember too his friend Declan McCormack, Riverstown, whose funeral took place during the week. May they rest in peace. We also pray for the happy repose of the soul of Kathleen Hughes (nee Fowley), formerly of Bawn, Dromahair who died in England. R.I.P. We pray also for the happy repose of the soul of Paddy McGovern, Middlesex and formerly of Cleen, Dromahair, whose funeral took place in Rathcormac on Thursday last. Our sincere sympathy to all families and friends.


Congratulations to baby Emma Guilfoyle who was christened in St. Mary’s last weekend. Every blessing to her parents Paul & Breda!

Dawn Mass – Easter Sunday

This year we will have a Dawn Mass on Easter Sunday morning at 6am in Creevelea Abbey. It’s a lovely idea to have a Dawn Mass and especially at the historical grounds of Creevelea Abbey. Fr. Vincent looks forward to having a good crowd at this Mass.

Virginia Gospel Choir

Palm Sunday at 7pm – The Virginia Gospel Choir as seen on the “All Ireland Talent Show” will host a wonderful evening of music and singing in St. Mary’s on March 24th at 7pm. All proceeds on the door will go directly to the Hospice in Sligo so come and support this lovely evening and a wonderful way to commence the Holy Week ceremonies. Donations on the door is optional. St. Teresa’s N.S. Ballintogher is accepting enrolments for September 2013. Enrolment forms are currently available from the school. Those wishing to enrol can contact the school at (071) 9164939 or call in person to the school. Application forms should be returned to the School on or before Friday, 22nd March.

Fundraiser for Special Olympics

Riverbrooke Cross-Border Youth Group (Riverstown) are hosting a charity St Patrick’s weekend Fancy Dress Party / Disco for 10 - 13 year olds, in aid of Special Olympics Connaught, on Friday night March 15th at the Community Hall Riverstown, Co. Sligo from 8.30 to 10.30 pm with DJ Vincenzo. Admission €5, party food served. All proceeds go to Special Olympics Connaught. Fully supervised by adults. Fancy dress is optional. Parents please be there for 10.30pm to collect young people when the party ends. Any questions please contact John on 086-7754946.

Dromahair St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Dromahair is having there St Patrick’s Day parade on Sunday the 17th of March from 3pm. There will be entertainment on the street after the parade. A great day of entertainment is guaranteed. Why not come out and support your local parade?
