Easter Pike Festival
This year’s Pike Angling Festival has been set for Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st March. The club are delighted to announce prizes, First €2,500; Second €1,500; Third €750 and special prizes Members, Juniors Ladies and day Prizes. Entry Fee €60 per angler (2 days, all ages) Boyle and District Angling Club adheres to a policy of ‘Catch and Release’
Boyle Golf Club
The King Harmon entry sheet is on the notice board draw will take place on Sunday April 7th. Thursday night competitions re commence on April 4th. The Volunteers meeting took place last week with thanks to all those who have expressed interest. Rotas are posted at the club house for a variety of tasks, all support is appreciated.
A report of the meeting will be given to the April Management meeting. A special meeting of the Management committee will take place at 8.00pm on this Wednesday evening March 27th to discuss a proposal for a membership campaign in April. The tree planting project due to be held this coming weekend has been postponed till April 27th.
The mysterious black tracks on the course last weekend were due to iron being spread on the fairways. A club outing will take place to Ballinrobe on Saturday April 13th, entry sheet and details on noticeboard. JPC public meeting
Boyle Town Council Joint Policing Committee wish to inform you that a public meeting will be held on Monday 8th April 2013 at 6.00pm in the meeting room, County Council Offices, Cootehall Street, Boyle. There will be a presentation by the West Region Drugs Task Force. The Joint Policing Committee has been established under the Garda Síochána Act 2005 and the committee includes the elected members of Boyle Town Council, Oireachtas Members, Gardai, the community, voluntary sector and officials of Boyle Town Council. The function of the Committee is to serve as a forum for consultations, discussions and recommendations on matters affecting the policing of the local authority’s administrative area. Members of the public are invited to attend, to have their views heard.

Easter Fun Day
A cake sale will be held on Good Friday in Ballinafad Hall after 3 o clock devotions and an Easter Family Fun Day on Easter Sunday in the playground. These fund-raisers are needed to raise the remaining money for the playground Insurance. Please spread the word to anyone you know with children. Also, if anyone is available on Easter Sunday from 3 - 5pm to lend a hand, we’d greatly appreciate the help. We need people for a variety of jobs including: face-painting; football referee; selling tea/coffee and cake slices; help run the novelty game i.e. spud’n’spoon race, sack race, etc And if there are any bakers among you, we’ll gladly accept any cakes to sell on the Friday.
Free Easter Egg Hunt
During the Boyle Farmers Market on Easter Saturday there will be a Free Easter egg hunt, with eggs hidden throughout the grounds of King House, just waiting to be found. There will also be live music with David Byrne guitarist and singer. Watch out for the special offers on all stalls and with every purchase of €5 or more puts you into a draw for a Hamper filled with goodies from Una Bhan and the stallholders. The weekly market offers you the opportunity to talk first hand with the local growers and producers that provide fresh, locally grown produce, including vegetables that are in season, organic meat and poultry, home bakes, fruit juices, jams, sauces, organic eggs, gluten and wheat free breads and fresh fish to name but a few. Stott Pilates classes
A contemporary approach to Pilates which includes the modern principles of exercise, science and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and most effective methods available. CYBER SAFETY ADVICE WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS: This workshop gives parents an opportunity to learn more about their childrens usage of social media sites e.g. facebook, twitter etc. and many more. Discussions on how parents can minimise the chances of their children getting caught up in cyber bullying and also how to deal with it if it occurs.
