U-14 League Game
Two well-drilled teams, St. Brigid’s and Dromahair, were not unduly discomfited by the arctic conditions that obtained at Aughnasheelin Park on last Saturday morning, when Dromahair emerged with a comfortable win over the hosts. The skills and ball-carrying displayed in approach work by both teams was admirable, and reflects the great work being done by their trainers. Possession-wise there was little difference between the sides, but the Dromahair forwards made better of their chances in front of the posts, while their defence came up trumps, especially in the second half, in short circuiting a number of St. Brigid’s attacks that should have produced much-needed scores. The St. Brigid’s lineout was as follows: Yann Le Guen, Richard Fitzpatrick, Cormac Sammon, Michael O Haire, Fergal Murray, Darragh Maxwell, Dylan Maguire, Peter Prior (0-1), Aaron Hoare, Niall Stringer (0-1), Ciaran Cullen (1-2), Stephen Meissner (1-0), Conor McGovern (1-2), Ben McGirl, Manus Connolly.
