30 years celebration concert
Following on from last year’s two sell-out midsummer concerts in King House, Boyle Musical Society will present another evening of spectacular entertainment, celebrating the best from the world of music and from their last 29 shows. Bricklieve sponsored walk
Aughanagh Parish New Sportsfield Committee are organizing a Sponsored Walk of the Beautiful and Picturesque Bricklieve Mountains on Sunday the 10th of March at 1pm starting from the Donkey Sanctuary Castlebaldwin and finishing in Ballinafad with refreshments, chat and craic on completion of the Walk in the Mayfly Inn Ballinafad.
With the wheels in motion for what promises to be an exciting event and a little different from just the regular sportive the Wheelers are gearing up to welcome everyone to Boyle. With operation transformation and the return to the 2 wheeler gripping the country this event is sure to get your Paddy’s weekend off to the right start. The Curlieu Wheelers/Connacht Gold Audax is a non competitive cycling event with routes to suit all abilities, 60k-140k-200km-10km Family Spin and Family Fun Day. St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The committee extend an invitation to every Business, Community Group, Organisations and Club to enter a float into this year’s parade. The Parade is the highlight of St Patrick’s Day and very enjoyable community event. Each float will be automatically entered into a competition with fantastic prizes. Overall winner €500 plus Cup: runner up €300; Traditional and Heritage €200; Junior under 16 years €200 and Runner up prize of €100. Shops are invited and encouraged to dress their windows and put out flags as there will be a window prize of €100 for the best window display
Boyle People of the Year
The Year Awards 2012, presented by Boyle Town Council is now underway. EntryForms are now being distributed to over 70 local organisations in the Boyle area. Any organisation that has not received a Nomination Form should contact the Secretary, Francie Geelan at 087 223 4477 immediately. This is the 18th year awards are to be presented.
The Awards are a way of honouring people who have achieved recognition and acknowledging those people. An additional award has been added to recognise an individual or group working in the locality. Fabulous Fashion Show
Boyle Horse & Summer Show is hosting a fashion show on Friday March 22nd in St. Joseph’s Hall, Boyle. Women’s and men’s fashions will be presented by Magee’s and
Aidan Ray, Boyle. The show starts at 8.30 pm, doors open 8.00 pm. Tickets €10 will make an ideal mother’s day gift and are now available from Magee’s, Aidan Ray and Una Bhan Tourism, Boyle. Boyle Horse & Summer Show is also pleased to announce that show jumping is returning to Boyle after a 30-year absence. The show will take place on Sunday August 25th.
