St. Patrick’s Day Parade Festival
At our recent St. Patrick’s Day meeting in Berry’s plans were being finalised for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day Parade Festival weekend. Kicking off with The Outlaws in the Lough Allen Hotel on Friday night the 15th March. Tickets €15.00 available in Centra and Gala, this is a fundraiser for Childhood Days and STOP, (suicide awareness) so please support.
On St. Patrick’s Day, there will be a Hector/Redhead theme type gathering “for the year that is in it” floats are invited to come along on the day assembly on the Carrick Road at 3 o clock at Corryard Wood. All business/schools/groups in the town and surrounding areas are asked to enter a float. There is no entry fee, and there are prizes for the best floats (first, second and third.) Without the support of the community and bussiness the parade would not be able to continue to be as sucessful as was in recent years, so please support us.It would also be appreciated if houses around the town would put out flags and businesses decorate windows for the St. Patrick’s Weekend. There will be a prize for the best decorated house or business. We also have a fabulous prize of a Lily O’Brien Easter Egg hamper in 5 businesses around town, tickets €2 so get in for the chance to win one of them. There was a good turn out at the last meeting but we could do with more help so if you are interested in helping out on the day please come along to our next meeting which will be in Doherty’s on Tuesday night, 12th March at 9pm.
