Death of Kathleen Cully, Arva
The death took place on Friday, April 19th last after a brief illness of Mrs Kathleen Cully, nee Robinson, Main Street, Arva, County Cavan and Cully’s Bakery, Arva. Deceased was a well-known person in the region and carried on the running of the bakery following the death of her husband Michael many years ago and was very successful in doing so. She was a popular member of the community and liked working in her garden which grew various vegetables every year and enjoyed good health up until her early 90s.
She will be greatly missed from the Arva Town area and is survived by her extended Cully family and a wide circle of friends. She was predeceased by her only daughter in the early 1960s following a tragic accident. Her wake took place a the home followed by removal to the Sacred Heart Church, Arva on Saturday.
Her concelebrated funeral Mass was held on Sunday by Bishop Leo O’Reilly, Bishop of Kilmore, friend of deceased, Rev Colm Hurley, Killeshandra, Rev Eamon Bredin C.C, Arva plus other clergy. Afterwards, she was buried in Cornea Cemetery.
