Voting takes place in Leitrim tomorrow from 7am to 10pm.

The Local Elections take place across the country tomorrow, Friday, June 7, with polling stations open from 7am to 10pm.

There are three Local Electoral Areas in Co Leitrim -  Ballinamore, Carrick-on-Shannon and Manorhamilton.

There are 18 members on Leitrim County Council, six from each of the electoral areas.

Five sitting councillors have retired and are not contesting this election: Finola Armstrong-McGuire (FG), Frank Dolan (FG), Gerry Dolan (IND), Caillian Ellis (FF) and Sean McDermott (FG).

There are 35 confirmed candidates for Friday's vote, 11 in Ballinamore LEA, and 12 each in Carrick-on-Shannon LEA and Manorhamilton LEA.
