Athletic events take place in Kiltubrid pitch on Friday 26th April at 6 o clock. Events include both track and field from under 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16. Special race for the toddler and under 6 year olds. Further information will be given out in the local schools closer to the date.

The 1st Drumshanbo Vintage and Family Fun Day will take place on Sunday 5th May starting at 1pm in the Food Hub on the Carrick Road. Attractions include Vintage Vehicles on Display, Bouncy Castles, Field Games, Market Stalls and Dog Show. It’s going to be a fantastic day out for all the family with plenty to do and see! All roads lead to Ballinamore for Fleadh Cheoil Chondae Liatroma at the weekend .Entries have been rolling in from all Comhaltas branches in the county -a great sign of the growing interest in traditional music ,song and dance .A huge amount of credit is due to all the teachers throughout the county involved in the passing on of the traditional culture to the younger generation .This year sees a renewed interest in the harp and as one of the oldest instruments in the tradition, it is important to see younger people getting the opportunity to learn to play it. A huge interest in Sean Nós dance has also added a new dimension to Fleadhanna as well as Set dancing and Céili Dancing. Competitions in dancing commence at 4 pm on Sat 27th. Competitions in Music, Song commence at 12 noon on Sun 28th. Comhrá at 3 pm. Bain aoibhneas as an gceol tradisiúnta i rith na deire seachtaine.

Heritage Showcase Event
Carrick-on-Shannon Heritage Group Ltd. present Heritage Showcase Event on Saturday 27th April in the Town Park, Carrick-on-Shannon (the park opposite The Dock). Gates open to public 10.30am - 17.30pm. Workshops, Demonstrations, Entertainment, Stalls, Face painting, Bouncing Castles and much more. Fun for all the family. Also there is a dog show and dog show craft skills on the day. Entries taken on the day. Baking Competition in association with the I.C.A being ran on the day. There is a variety of different baking classes. Who do you think you are?
Have you ever intended to get around to researching your family history? Would you know where to start? Or maybe you have done some research, but came to a dead end? The 3CAP Partnership is launching a project to deliver a cross-border genealogy course: ‘Who Do You Think You Are? – Researching Your Family History in Fermanagh and Leitrim’. There is no cost and help may be available with transport. There will be an information session in Boho Community Centre on Monday, 13th May at 7.30 pm.
