First Holy Communion.

The sacrament of First Holy Communion takes place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Drumsna on Saturday May 11th at 11am.


Bingo continues in the Centre Drumsna on Thursday night at 9pm. Last week’s winners included Marie Browne, Kathleen Rynn. Raffle Mel Rowley, Bridgie Duignan, Martina Tully. Free books Anna Mc Govern, Ellen Gibbons.

Diebetes Annual Walk

The Annual sponsored Walk for Leitrim Diabetes takes place from Annaduff Church on Sunday, May 12th commencing at 12 noon. Refreshments afterwards in The G.A.A. Centre. Sponsorship cards can be had from T.P.087 4083451, Patricia 087 2238242, J.J. 087 6812765.

Golden Age group

Annaduff/Drumsna/Jamestown Golden Age group meet in the Dock, Carrick on Wednesday May 8th at 8pm. We wish our friends in Carrick active age good luck with their production and look forward to seeing it. Our Bealtaine ‘’May Madness Ball’’ in the Bush Hotel Carrick on Wednesday night last was a wonderful success. Thanks is extended to all of the Active age groups around and about who came along on the night, a special thanks to David Dolan and staff of the Bush Hotel who never seemed under pressure even though twice the number we had booked came along, also to Tommy Hands and Michael Moran who supplied the music in their own inimitable style. Well done to all who took part in ‘’The Extremes, your talent is wasted! The next meeting in the Centre Drumsna is on Wednesday May 15th at 11am. This is the last meeting before we take off for Westport.


Congratulations are extended to all of the children who received the Sacrament of Confirmation from His lordship Bishop Colm O’Reilly in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Drumsna on Saturday last, also to their teacher Mrs Deirdre McKeon who tirelessly prepared the children for the big day, their parents and Master Tighe. It was a unique experience for Drumsna as normally the Sacrament of Confirmation is held in St. Mary’s Annaduff but due to ongoing renovations the Honour fell to the village this year. Bishop O’Reilly partook of refreshments in the Community Centre afterwards together with ourP.P. Father John Wall, Sisters Una and Bridget and lots of Parishioners. Thanks to all who prepared the Church and surrounds and the ladies in the Centre also to Michael O’Rourke and his helpers who relayed the Confirmation to a screen in the Centre.

The following children received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Colm O’Reilly on Saturday last, Michael Cox, Liam Taylor, Hannah Farrell-Stirling, Amy Keane, Aoife Shanley, Courtnie Mulvihill-Farrell, Margaret O’Carroll, Cian McWeeney, Eimear Quigley, Enda McNabola, Caolan Quigley, Lucas Read, Eamonn Morrison, Nadine Curran, Kiah Faughnan, Jonathan Harte, Michael Murray, Jack Collum, Kathy Shanley, Daniel Hamilton, Sophie Reynolds, Grainne Reynolds, Jason Lyons, Marc McKeon, Conor Morrison, Martin Early, Leona Mc Loughlin, Jason Ward, Caitlin Dockery, Francis Shanley, Tara McCormack, Alanah Cox.


Sympathy is extended to Mrs Ann McLoughlin, Lismoyle and family on the death of Ann’s mother Mrs Mary Kate Mc Manus, Arigina, which took place in Laurel Lodge Nursing home during the week. May her soul rest in peace. Amen.

Cairde Liatroim

Cairde Liatroim is holding a fundraising dance in the Bush Hotel, Carrick on Thursday night May 9th with T.R. Dallas, Mickey Clerkin, Sean McAloon. This function is in aid of children with special needs and your support would be greatly appreciated. Tickets at the door or from 086 2525613.

The Gathering

The Annaduff Parish gathering is to be held on July 26th, 27th and 28th of July. Please tell all of your friends and relatives and make this an event to remember. The evening of Friday the 26th of July will be a warm welcome home reception and concert in the Community Centre Annaduff with M.C. Fionnuala Maxwell. The talent of the Parish will be on show for the night.

On Saturday July 27th Des Guckian will take you on a guided tour of the upper end of the Parish of Annaduff and on to Dromod Leitrim’s Tidiest Town and Award winning village. This tour will commence at St. Mary’s Church Annaduff at 10am until 1pm. After lunch there will be sports in the G.A.A, park for young and old with side shows etc. The evening time will be a treat of Irish music and song with famous Annaduff native Billy Faughnan and friends providing the entertainment in the G.A.A. Centre.

Sunday July 28th will open with the re-dedication of St. Mary’s Church, Annaduff at 11am Mass. After lunch all are invited down to the Drumsna end of the Parish for a guided tour of this historical and also All Ireland ‘’Pride of Place’’ Award winning village at 3pm with Noel Duignan. Patricia O’Reilly will take the children on their own magical tour of the village at the same time. At 4pm everyone is invited to the Drumsna Community Centre where we will take a nostalgic trip back in time to the days of yester year and have a cup of tea and a chat.

Leitrim Rose

Heartiest Congratulations to our own Edwina Guckian who came through the Leitrim Rose of Tralee Finals the other night . Edwina is multiptalented and we in Drumsna and surrounds are so proud of her and her many achievements to date. The best of luck to Edwina in the latest landmark in her life.
