Show Day 2012

In ideal weather conditions, Mohill greeted Show Day 2012. Competitiors and exhibitors came from across Mohill Parish, from all over County Leitrim and from virtually the whole of Ireland and even overseas. The judges were very impressed. They too came from the four corners of Ireland. Northern Ireland was also represented with competitiors coming from Antrim, Fermanagh and Tyrone as well as a competitor from France. There was a very large attendance and it was nice to meet Mae Reynolds - Malone and husband Willie, Ann, Liam McHugh, Shane McKeon, Martin and Mae Moran, Tony Farrell, Rev Micheal Dunleavy, Agnes Mulligan, D.Reynolds, Mrs Hewston, Mrs Patricia O’Malley Bradshaw, Laura Reynolds, Mrs J.Reynolds, Early sisters, Padraig McGarthy, Peggy and Bernie Reilly and family, the Shanley family and many more too numerous to mention. The show dance in J’s was most enjoyable where all danced their cares away to the music of “Gobsmacked”. A perfect end to a perfect day.

I wish to add my congratulations to the many received by all the young students who received their Leaving Certificate results here in Mohill Community College. This year the results were excellent thanks to the dedication of the students under the guidance of their teachers and the wonderful love and understanding of their parents and all who helped them during those formative years. Education is for life. This is another step on life’s journey. May you continue in good faith to have success in your studies.
