Annaduff Credit Union National School Quiz

Annaduff Credit Union National School Quiz

The Annaduff Credit Union National School Quiz took place in the Bornacoola Community Centre on Sunday, 3rd February. A total of 14 teams took part on the day from 3 local schools, Annaduff N.S., Bornacoola N.S. and Rooskey N.S. Our thanks to the teachers who were involved in putting the teams together.

The winners in the Junior Competition were in 1st place Rooskey N.S., 2nd & 3rd Place were Annaduff N.S teams. The Winners in the Senior Competition were 1st place Bornacoola N.S., 2nd place Rooskey N.S. and 3rd place Annaduff N.S. Congratulations to all winners and well done to everyone on a team.

Annaduff Credit Union would like to thank Bornacoola for the use of their community centre and thanks to Oliver and Declan for having everything set up for the Quiz on the day.

We would also like to thank Liam Faughnan who was an excellent quizmaster on the day and he ran a very tight and efficient quiz. A final thank you to all volunteers on the day especially Marion Casserly and Marcella Lyons who organised the quiz between them. Finally, we wish the best of luck to the 1st place Junior and Senior teams who go forward to the next stage of the Quiz, which takes place in the Bush Hotel on the 3rd March at 3pm sharp.


The Parish and G.A.A. Lotto Draw will be held in Taylor’s, Drumsna on Sunday next, 10th February with a jackpot of €3,800.

St. Mary’s Church

Masses in St. Mary’s Church, Annaduff as follows: Monday 7 p.m. followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until 8 p.m: Holy Hour Duty: Pauline Talbot, Mary McHugh, Eileen Maxwell Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9 a.m. Friday (No Mass). Vigil Mass Saturday 7 p.m. (Confessions after Mass), Sunday 11 a.m.

Next Sunday, February 10th at the 11 a.m. Mass in St. Mary’s Annaduff those for Confirmation will be again celebrating. The theme is The Creed: Believing: What Do I Believe? What does saying “Yes” mean? What do I believe. To practise my Faith! Go to Mass every weekend in my Parish.

Year of Faith: Fourth talk - Faith and Parenting: Thursday next, February 7th at 8 p.m. at the Pastoral Centre, St. Mel’s College, Longford. Presenter: Mary Quinn. (Mary is a parent and a teacher and she has many years experience working with parenting programmes) All are welecome.


Bingo continues in Drumsna Community Centre on Thursday night at 8.30p.m.

Church gate collection

Plan Ireland Church Gate Collection in Annaduff amounted to €236. Thanks to all who contributed.


Pilates commence in Annaduff N.S. on Tuesday, 12th February for beginners at 8.15 p.m. and intermediates at 9.15 p.m.

Wedding and Social Dance Classes

Wedding and Social Dance Classes starting in J’s Hotel, Mohill on Wednesday 13th February. Learn to Jive, waltz and quickstep. No partners needed. Everyone is welcome. Eamonn Cunnis is from Galway and is an All Ireland Champion Instructor. Its great craic and great exercise. €10 for 2 hour class - a bargain. See you there.

Bereavement course

Annaduff announces its Gathering

Come home and meet your old friends. Send out the word worldwide to all you know and ask them to be here on the weekend of 26, 27th and 28th July, 2013. It promises to be a weekend to remember.

Irish Proverb Exhibition

County Leitrim ICA present “Bantreacht na Tuaithe Taispeántas Seanfhocal” at Mohill Library. Helen Rutter the County Leitrim ICA Federation President will open the Irish Proverb Exhibition in Mohill Library on Friday the 8th February at 6.30pm.
