Counting is underway at the Clayton Hotel, Sligo for the Sligo-Leitrim-South Donegal constituency.
Sligo boxes are opened first with a cross-party tally underway.
An exit poll done by OceanFM in conjunction with ATU Sligo lecturers have shown an extremely tight contest, with Frank Feighan (FG) at 14.4 percent, Eamon Scanlon (FF) at 14 percent, Martin Kenny (SF) at 13.5 percent and Chris MacManus (SF) and Marian Harkin (IND) following at 7.2 percent.
The poll suggests the fourth seat is between Marian Harkin and Michael Clake (II) at 7.1 percent.
There are 18 candidates in contention for four seats in the Sligo-Leitrim-South Donegal constituency.
