Carrick-on-Stag explores the "Vegas of Leitrim"

A new Reality Bites show 'Carrick-on-Stag' airs on RTE 2 on Wednesday, December 21 at 9.30pm

The one off episode join brides and grooms-to-be as they embark on one last raucous weekend before they get married, to get the real story of what goes down on these rites of passage.

The programme promotion says, "Every weekend Carrick-On-Shannon is besieged with an influx of likely lads and good time gals, determined to show their brides and grooms a good time. The Leitrim town has quickly become the unofficial stag & hen capital of the country. Over the course of one hectic weekend we join the mayhem as we follow three groups of hens and stages; from the Conor McGregor of the stripping world to catching cocks on a local farm to a Brazilian nude model who is more than happy to let it all hang out, we get down and dirty on this weekend to remember."

Throughout the programme the TV camera visits the ‘confession couch’ to get the real story as we hear what the differences between hens versus stags, men versus women, the rules of engagement and the importance of willie straws!

But beyond the dodgy costumes, jaeger bombs and naked antics the show explores  why this rite of passage weekend is so important to friends; and the lengths people go to throw one last big hooray for the future brides & grooms.

"Carrick-On-Stag is a bawdy yet life affirming insight into the stag & hen scene in the Vegas of Leitrim, Carrick-On-Shannon" concludes the promo.
