One of the highlights of the Boyle Arts Festival will be a performance of music and photography by David Knight and his father Billy with trad band Rakish in King House on Tuesday, July 30 at 9pm.
David Knight a locally based photographer will have a presentation of inspirational imagery from both the local area and the west of Ireland, these will be accompanied with a concert of specially arranged music to enhance the imagery.
The music will feature Billy Knight, a jazz and classical clarinet player of international standard. David’s father Billy played all his life on the Dublin Irish jazz scene and was involved with the Jazz Coasters for over 30 years.
The audio visual performance is also performed with the local traditional group Rakish, James Wickham, accordion player, plays with David on a regular basis in Cryan’s pub every Friday night in Carrick. Jim Butler features on the flute and whistles, Tom Gleeson and Gerry Miley, provide bouzouki and guitar accompaniment to all of the above with excellent taste and flair.
