Award-winning songwriter, Ailie Blunnie, returns to The Dock with a seven-piece band, a wellspring of beautifully-crafted songs, and a characteristic splash of pure divilment.

With a “tenderness” and “beauty” that “lends weight to her sweet-natured compositions” (Lauren Murphy, Irish Times), Ailie’s unique blend of cabaret-pop and folk music has begun to attract the attention of music and literary critics alike, as seen by the success of her bittersweet love song, “How much do you love me?” in the UK International Songwriting Competition 2014.

Throw in a few laughs, tears and ponderings on the quirks of life, and you’ve got her in a nutshell: escapism of the sweetest kind.

“So new, so fresh, and so good” (Carl Corcoran, The Blue of the Night, RTÉ Lyric fm)

“One of the country’s leading young poets” (Brian Lynch, writer, Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Festival 2014)

Ailie will play at The Dock this Friday, November 6 at 8.30pm.

Band members include Cliodhna Ní Fhátharta, Aideen Rickard (keyboard and backing vocals)Eoin Coughlan: bass, Eoghan Regan: guitar, Conor Murray: drums and percussion.

Tickets are €15/12 on (071) 96 50828.
