Leitrim County Council is seeking the public's assistance to find the culprits responsible for a despicable act of fly-tipping. It occurred at St. John's Lake Amenity Area, Ballinamore last Friday night or early on Saturday morning. It would appear the material is from a house clear-out.
This area is popular with anglers and tourists and is visible from the main road.
Carmel Coll, Environmental Awareness Officer, Leitrim County Council, said, “There is an Adopt a Road Group working in this area that do a tremendous job at keeping the road and this amenity area in great
condition. They had only done a clean-up the weekend before last and for this to appear is very disheartening.”
Anyone who witnessed this dumping is asked to contact the Council's Environment section on 1890 205 205 or by emailing environment@leitrimcoco.ie
