Three more Leitrim doctors have signed up to the Free GP Visits for Under sixes scheme this week.
The programme commences on July 1 and as it currently stands fourteen docotors within the county have signed up, covering every area.
Last week the paper reported that Dromahair was the only area not covered by a registered doctor to this scheme. The updated list from the HSE now includes Dr Gerry Ballantine who covers the Dromahair area.
Also newly registered to the scheme are Dr Judy Ceannt, the Medical Centre, Carrick-on-Shannon and Dr Arthur Dolan, Mohill.
The Free scheme for young children also includes home visits and out of hours GP visits.
to register your child fill out the application form on www.gpvisitcard.ie or download the form and send it by post.
The online application requires the child and parent’s PPS, DOB, name and address, applicants can then choose their closest docotor registered for the Government scheme.
The GP Visit Card does not cover medication.
