The transition and second years were brought on a trip to Croke Park and Collins Barracks on 25th of October. The students thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour around Croke Park along with the GAA museum. The Spanish students in particular found the tour very informative. Everyone was thrilled to bump into Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh, the former great GAA sports commentator and he was delighted to have his picture taken with our group. Next, to Collins Barracks which was an army base for 200 years before being renovated for use as a museum. The final part of the outing was a retail stop at Liffey Valley. Thanks to Mrs Killoran, Transition Year Co-ordinator for organising this trip and to Mrs Patricia Keane, Mr Damien Butler, Ms Maria Foley, Mr Brian Flannery and Mr Diarmaid Mc Kiernan for accompanying the students on the tour.
John Williams Memorial Blitz
On Monday 20th of November, the second and third year boys travelled to the Centre of Excellence in Annaduff to participate in the John Williams Memorial Blitz. Well done to Drumshanbo who emerged victorious in this competition against Manorhamilton. Best player for LAC was Jamie McGreal. Mr Damien Butler organised and accompanied the students to this blitz. A stop off in Supermacs on the way home was a welcome sight for the players.
