The AGM was told that the credit union now serves 4,188 members, with loans to the local community standing at €7.95 million and member savings totalling €16.14 million, reflecting continued confidence and trust in the organisation across North Leitrim and West Cavan.
Speaking at the meeting, representatives of the board and management highlighted what was described as a very successful year, driven by strong member engagement, responsible lending, and ongoing investment in services.

A major development during the year was the launch of a brand-new credit union mobile app, making it easier than ever for members to manage their accounts, apply for loans, and access services online. While digital services continue to grow, the credit union reaffirmed its commitment to face-to-face service, reminding members that staff are always available in-branch to provide personal support and advice.
“Even though people can now join and apply for loans online, it remains hugely important that we are here in person, that members can call in, talk to us, and get the help and guidance they need,” Manager, Pauline Murray, said.
As a not-for-profit, community-based organisation, Manorhamilton & District Credit Union once again placed strong emphasis on giving back. Thousands of euros are invested each year into local community groups, clubs and organisations, supporting projects that enhance social, sporting, cultural and wellbeing initiatives across the region.
Among the highlights of the year was the sponsorship of the North Leitrim Glens Run, which proved a major success, attracting large numbers of participants and spectators, and showcasing the beauty and community spirit of the area.
The Board paid tribute to the dedicated staff, volunteers, and board members for their ongoing commitment, while offering particular thanks to the local community and members, whose support makes the credit union’s work possible.
“Without our members, we simply could not operate. Everything we do is for the benefit of our community, and we are proud to remain firmly rooted at the heart of it.”
Manorhamilton & District Credit Union reminded people that anyone who lives or works in the North Leitrim or West Cavan area is eligible to join and encouraged new members to get in touch or call into the office to find out more.
