Ireland’s biggest day of street parties and community gatherings returns on May 24 and 25.

Street Feast is all about bringing people together to share food, conversation, and camaraderie. Since its launch in 2010, it has grown steadily, with nearly 75,000 people taking part in celebrations nationwide last year.

Whether it’s a simple cuppa in the garden, a picnic in the park, or a big street party, hosting a Street Feast is an easy and meaningful way to strengthen community connections.

Organised by Neighbourhood Network, an all-island charity focused on promoting social inclusion, tackling loneliness and building resilient neighbourhoods.

The occasion is open to everyone - whether you live in an apartment, house or shared space, all you need is a location - be it a front garden, community centre, or car park.

Hosts in Leitrim can sign up for a Street Feast Pack, which includes bunting, stickers, invitations, posters and a DIY guide.

From there, it’s all about gathering people to help plan the day, choosing a location, setting a time and date, inviting people and sorting out practical details like food, drinks, seating, and more.

“Every year, thousands of neighbours pass each other by without ever saying hello. We want to empower people to change that,” said Sam Bishop, Street Feast Co-Founder and Neighbourhood Network CEO.

“By hosting a Street Feast, you can help make your neighbourhood a happier, healthier and more connected place.

“Over the last fifteen years, Street Feast has facilitated 750,000 community connections across every county on the island of Ireland. Our mission is to reach 1 million connections by 2030,” he added.
