Leitrim band Amble was nominated for the RTE Choice Music Irish Album of the Year award 2025 earlier this week.
2025 was a successful year for the group with the release of their debut album Reverie, which led to sold-out shows at the 3Arena, while they also opened for Hozier on his world tour.
The Leitrim group that formed in 2022 is joined on the short list by CMAT, Dove Ellis, Bricknasty, Joshua Burnside, Just Mustard, pôt-pot, Maria Somerville, and SPRINTS.
CMAT’s Eurocountry leads the way for the RTE Choice Music Prize 2025, according to Ladbrokes.
The Dunboyne singer has had a whirlwind 2025, and her third album has certainly skyrocketed her to another level of fame. Her album is top of the odds to win this year’s prize at 6/4.
Amble are in second at (2/1) after a sublime 2025 with the release of their debut album, Reverie.
Followed up by Just Mustard (3/1), Junior Brother’s The End (4/1), and Sprints’ All That Is Over (4/1).
Editor of RTÉ Brainstorm & co-founder of the prize, Jim Carroll, is the chairman of the judging panel who will select the album of the year based simply and solely on the music as opposed to sales or airplay.
The public vote for Song of the Year will open on Friday, 23rd January and run until Sunday, 22nd February.

The awards, which are in their 21st year, will also award the Irish Artist of the Year, Irish Breakthrough Artist, Classic Irish Album, and Irish Song of the Year 2025.
The Irish Album of the Year 2025 will be announced live from Vicar St on RTÉ 2FM in a special show from 7-11pm on Thursday, 5th March, hosted by Beta Da Silva.
