Amb;e members, with Robbie Cunningham (centre)
Robbie Cunningham of Amble has opened up about being homesick and how much he misses Leitrim while touring with the band in the US and UK.
Speaking recently on Today FM, he told Louise Cantillon: "Since we have left home been on the road, I am dreaming about Leitrim.
"I had a dream there last week that myself and Oisin were landing back into Dublin Airport and we were crying and we were kissing the floor".
"I swear to God. I was just three months away from home and I just wanted to get home," Robbie said.
"That was a bit extreme, that dream. But you do miss home when you are away and I can't wait to get home to Leitrim," he said.
He was speaking to Today FM after Amble's song, Mary’s Pubs, was selected at no 49 in the radio station's top 100 Irish songs.
It has been a remarkable year for Amble who recently won the RTÉ Choice Music Prize Song of the Year award for their track ‘Schoolyard Days’.
The announcement was made live on The Tracy Clifford Show on RTÉ 2FM in recent weeks.
The also won Irish Breakthrough Artist of the Year 2025.
