At a recent meeting of Ballinamore Municipal District, a concern was raised regarding the Clós Eaglaise estate in Ballinamore.
Cllr Gary Prior requested that the issue of large, overgrown trees from a neighbouring property, which are encroaching onto the roof of an adjacent house, be addressed.
Clós Eaglaise housing scheme was opened in November of 2021, and consists of four two-bed semi detached houses, two two-bedroom detached terraced houses, one two-bedroom terrace house and two two-bedroom apartments.
According to a report by the Economic Development, tenants within Clós Eaglaise estate hold the right to trim any overhanging branches from neighbouring trees to maintain their property.
The report also emphasised that if the overgrown trees cause damage to boundary fences of Leitrim County Council’s housing units, the housing section will intervene.
However, this action must be requested through the Housing Maintenance helpdesk.
