Ballinamore Sean O’Heslin’s GAA may undergo significant upgrades to their playing facilities and surrounding grounds.
The GAA club submitted a planning application to Leitrim County Council for the construction of an astroturf pitch and other associated developments, with a decision expected by Thursday, January 16.
The proposed astroturf pitch, measuring 70 metres by 30 metres, is intended to serve as a multipurpose training area and would replace the existing grass playing surface.
The plans also include the installation of four 12 metre high lighting columns with LED floodlights, as well as a five metre high perimeter fence comprising a 2.4 metre steel mesh fence topped with 2.6 metre ballstop netting.
Additional elements of the development include entrance gates, civil works and the provision of an electrical cabinet.
