Unusual planning application links tile showroom with vehicle storage yard in Leitrim

Golf Links Road, Ballinamore

A planning application has been submitted to convert a building into a warehouse and tile showroom in Leitrim.

The application, submitted on March 16, seeks permission to change the use of the building from light industrial to a tile showroom at a development located on Golf Links Road in Ballinamore.

The proposal also seeks full planning permission to change the use of part of the open yard to allow for the storage of commercial passenger vehicles, a use not typically associated with retail showrooms.

Planning permission is also sought for the erection of commercial signage adjacent to the site entrance and on the front façade of the building.

In addition, the applicant is seeking retention permission for a number of works already carried out, including all elevational amendments made subsequent to the initial construction, the retention of an external loading ramp and dock, and the construction of walls and a roof to enclose the loading ramp and dock.

Further retention permission is sought to change the northwest façade from cement render to steel cladding, as well as to construct a new entrance gate to secure the yard.

A decision on the application is due to be made by the local authority by May 10.
