What an honour! Leitrim student chosen to represent his county on The Late Late Toy Show

There's been great excitement in Leitrim this week as nine-year-old Oran Cox has been chosen to appear on this year's Late Late Toy Show.

Oran, who is currently in third class in Annaduff National School, Carrick on Shannon, will be part of a brand new section of the show, the County Parade.

The County Parade will see kids from all over the country representing their county on a ride-on bike, scooter, or go-kart.

Oran applied for the show with his grandmother Annette and was then called to the Late Late headquarters in Dublin for an audition.

Cool as a breeze, Oran aced the audition, giving little info to his mother Andrea on how it went, "It was grand mammy," he said.

"We got the call last Friday to say that he was successful," says Andrea, "He was flying it. It's a great little confidence boost for him...he couldn't wait to go into school last week to tell all of his friends."

More importantly, the family had to take the trip back to the headquarters this week as Oran had to try out all of the different ride on's, scooters and go-karts that he will be using for the big parade.

They are due back up at the end of the month for a rehearsal, where all the kids who are representing their counties will get to meet and find out how the parade is going to go.

Then on the big day, December 6, Oran will travel up once more for his big debut, although only one parent/guardian will be allowed to accompany him, the family are so excited to see Oran on the big screen on one of the most talked about shows in the country.

Best of luck to Oran representing Leitrim and don't forget to tune in to see him in action at the County Parade on December 6 at 9.35pm.
